About Us

The Fallbrook Medical Plaza is now open.  The entire first floor of the plaza is home to the Fallbrook Family Health Center — the medical practice of Drs. Lane T. Handke, Steven J. Saathoff and April C. Brinkhoff and APRN's Amy K. Arndt and LaDonna K. Hart.  Fallbrook Family Health Center is open for business and taking appointments at 441.3575. 

The Fallbrook Medical Plaza is located at 755 Fallbrook Boulevard, Suite 100.

Providers

Dr. Lane T. Handke


Dr. Handke was born in Omaha, NE and lived in Iowa until 7th grade. He moved to Pierce, NE which became his hometown.

Dr. Handke graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1987 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and finished his residency at the Medical Education Program in Cedar Rapids, IA, in 1990. He is board certified in Family Medicine recertifying in 2004. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians.  He is on staff at all Lincoln hospitals.

Dr. Handke is married to Linda and has two sons, ages 20 and 18 and one daughter, age 10. Dr. Handke enjoys golf, coin collecting, Civil War history and traveling.

Dr. Steven J. Saathoff


Dr. Saathoff was born and raised on a dairy farm near Naponee, NE in south central Nebraska.  He attended Franklin Public Schools graduating in 1984.  He attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in biology graduating with high honors.  He obtained his medical degree from the University of Nebraska graduating with honors and named to the medical honors society of Alpha Omega Alpha.  He completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Nebraska Medical Center winning the Rico award.

Dr. Saathoff is board certified in family medicine from the American Academy of Family Practice.  He is on staff at all Lincoln hospitals.  He began his practice in Lincoln in 1995 at the 7th and Superior site.  He and Dr. Handke joined forces and became Superior Street Family Physicians in 1999 and in December of 2006 moved to our present location as Fallbrook Family Health Center.

Dr. Saathoff's medical interests include diabetes, the metabolic syndrome, preventative medicine, migraines and sports medicine.  He is a regionally recognized speaker on topics as diverse as migraines,  hypertension, diabetes and arthritis/pain management.

Dr. Saathoff is married with two daughters.  His personal interests include martial arts mastering a third degree black belt and because of his girls, probably knows more about competitive cheerleading than any man should.  


Dr. April C. Brinkhoff


Dr. April Brinkhoff is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with minors in Biology and Art History from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 

During her undergraduate training she studied film at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. She received her medical degree in 2004 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and completed residency training at the Lincoln Family Medicine Program in 2007. She is board certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.  She is on staff at all Lincoln hospitals.

She is married with two children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as visiting art museums and traveling.

Amy K. Arndt, APRN


Amy K. Arndt is a lifetime Lincoln resident, graduating from Lincoln High School. She completed her Associate degree in nursing at Southeast Community College and her Bachelor of Nursing at Nebraska Wesleyan.

In 2003, she completed her Masters in Nursing at University of Nebraska Medical Center with specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked with Drs. Handke and Saathoff as a Certified Nurse Practitioner at   Fallbrook Family Health Center for over 4 years.

Amy's practice is enhanced by her previous experience as an RN in the fields of orthopedics, physical rehabilitation and trauma. She has completed advanced specialty training in aesthetic medicine. She is an active member in the Nebraska Nurse Practitioner Association and a preceptor to other nurse practitioners.

She is married with two boys. Her hobbies include traveling and spending time with family.

LaDonna K. Hart, APRN


LaDonna completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing through the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1993.  She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and graduated in 1998 with a Masters in the Science of Nursing Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  She joined Fallbrook Family Health Center in December 2006 and brings with her nearly 12 years experience in obstetrics and gynecology.  She completed specialized training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, in the area of Colposcopy. She is an active member of the Nebraska Nurse Practitioner Association, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

She enjoys quilting, spending time with family and friends. She is married and has two boys.
